Goddess Intense
Female 2024 Goddess
Goddess Intense Goddess Intense by Burberry is a powerful 2024 evolution of the original aromatic gourmand, designed to offer a deeper and more mysterious olfactory experience. This version amplifies the signature trio of vanillas with a fourth, smoky vanilla wood, creating a resinous and balsamic profile. The addition of an earthy patchouli base shifts the fragrance from a light, airy sweetness into a more mature, woody territory that feels substantial and sophisticated, perfectly capturing a moody and empowered vibe.
The fragrance opens with a vibrant burst of luminous lavender that provides a clean, aromatic start before transitioning into a dense, syrupy heart of quadruple vanillas. Engineered for superior endurance, it boasts excellent longevity of over ten hours and a moderate to heavy sillage. While maintaining the elegant, refillable square bottle design with gold accents, the juice features a deeper amber hue, making it an ideal choice for evening wear and cooler autumn or winter months.
Goddess Intense demonstrates impressive longevity for an Eau de Parfum, with the fragrance frequently lasting over ten hours on the skin. Users report that the scent remains perceptible at the end of the day, offering a significant improvement over the original version.
The sillage is moderate and sophisticated, creating a noticeable but non-overpowering trail. While it starts with a bold energy, it settles into a sultry skin scent that works well for cooler weather, evening wear, and professional settings.
Launched in 2024, Burberry Goddess Intense was developed by master perfumer Amandine Clerc-Marie as a deeper evolution of the award-winning original pillar fragrance. Following the massive success of the first edition, this "Intense" version was designed to represent a more empowered and mysterious archetype. The campaign once again features actress Emma Mackey, who embodies the spirit of a lioness, symbolizing collective female strength and self-discovery under the golden rays of a Mediterranean sunset.
The fragrance introduced a significant innovation by expanding the original trio of vanillas into a "Vanilla Quartet." This includes the addition of a fourth note—vanilla wood—extracted using a specialized supercritical fluid technique to provide a smoky, resinous depth. By blending these rich gourmand elements with luminous lavender and an earthy patchouli base, Burberry established the scent as a sophisticated, woody-aromatic masterpiece. It has since solidified its position as a modern classic within the brand’s fragrance portfolio.

POTENTIAL DRAWBACKS
- - The addition of patchouli and wood notes can make the scent feel medicinal or herbal to some users.
- - Some people find the lavender too dominant and sharp, comparing it to the smell of cleaning products.
- - Several reviewers noted it can smell mature or like an old person muddle, which may not appeal to a younger audience.
- - While intended to be richer, it can come across as screechy or synthetic compared to the original formulation.
- - The fragrance can be polarizing and may not be a safe blind buy, as it often smells significantly different on skin than on paper.
